I want to share the story of these wonderful vintage lamps and how fabric gave them a new life and a new home.
Being a textile decorator is not just about window treatments, it's about adding fabric touches everywhere! One of the best ways to update your interior each season is by changing the lampshades on your light fixtures.
One of my clients found these beautiful vintage lamps with crystal bases on their way to work. They discovered a stamp from a Czech crystal manufacturer on each lamp. After some Googling, the clients learned that an American factory, that made these lamps, ordered the crystal bases from the Czech Republic. Sadly, the factory went bankrupt and closed down in the 1980s.
We cleaned up the bases, and my job was to turn these lamps into art pieces. The clients loved botanical patterns, so we chose lampshades with owls that look like they just perched on a branch and are gazing at you. The lampshades are made from 100% linen with a printed design.
I hope this story will inspire you to change the way you look at vintage things, which, with the right approach, can become central details of your interior
